Incumbent serves an Immunization Specialist, assisting the USG, CDC, World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Health in Haiti (MSPP) officials to plan, implement, and evaluate crosscutting, multi-faceted, multi-dimensional activities for the WHO Expanded Program for Immunization (EPI) disease surveillance and disease control in Haiti. The incumbent is responsible for providing technical assistance and capacity building for EPI program planning, implementation, monitoring and surveillance; conducting complex analyses of survey data for the purposes of developing recommendations to leadership and positions statements on issues related to VPD in Haiti; and providing program leadership, direction, and management for CDC Haiti in the development and maintenance of initiatives to advance EPI control activities in Haiti. In fulfilment of these duties, the Epidemiologist visits countries, other national and international agencies, and WHO regional offices, as required.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience conducting programs and research in the epidemiology of infectious diseases including at least three years of mid-to-senior level public health experience developing, implementing and evaluating immunization programs or other relevant public health programs that involve coordination with an international agency or implementing partner is required.
Education Requirements:
Master’s degree with specialty in Epidemiology, Infectious Diseases, Tropical Medicine, or Internal Medicine or related specialty is required.
